Summer--the fastest so far

We had a busy summer, maybe that is why is feels so short. I have enjoyed this last little warm spell knowing it may be the last of the year. I love to open all the doors and enjoy the smell and feel the occasional breeze.
The grands have all returned to school, 2 into kindergarten, so no more babies---for a while it looks like. I have my fingers crossed as we have an unmarried son--so there's still hope.

Today is a lazy day, taking it very easy as we were baby sitting granddaughters numbers 2 and 5 while their parents took our oldest to Vegas for the Interbike Convention this week. All went really well, the girls were up and dressed in 5 minutes flat. Yesterday they both got to sew something, went with Grandpa to watch their cousins play soccer , quick dip in the pool and waited for their parents to get home.

I'm participating in two swaps and am trying to get motivated. One is a charm for the "Charmster's" called The 12 days of Christmas, I'm doing the 12 drummers, the other is a Boo Book for my art group called the " Orange County Art Makers" or OCAM. The theme is Halloween, we each make a page for each person participating. Don't ask me what I will do with the book, guess I'll display it during October each year. It sounded fun and is a challenge, plus I'm always awed at the art the ladies produce.

I hear the sound of football coming from the family room and know that fall has truly arrived, it will be non stop until-----who knows when, good thing I have my little space with the computer and sewing machines to keep me company, I love, love this room---good thing as I spend many an hour here.( I bet there are many, many family rooms blasting the same sounds) Ahh this funny addiction to this thing called "Football"...if I remember correctly that is the reason I decided to get pregnant so soon in my marriage. I remember thinking "how fun it would be to have a baby to play with while DH watched football all weekend." And she was fun to play with and so cute!
